Avishai Leger-Tanger is a digital artist whose work is inspired by the classical arts of India. Struck by the evocative power of dance, music or even traditional Indian painting, he highlights this heritage using the arts and technologies of the digital age, creating works at the crossroads of techniques and eras.
His creations in collaboration with the renowned Indian classical Odissi dancer Mahina Khanum made the headlines in India and beyond.
Avishai Leger-Tanger served as Communications and PR Manager and as a Digital Communications Manager for various nonprofit organizations. He is the author of awareness campaigns against racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred, with his creative content reaching up to 12 millions people a week on social media.
In 2015, he joined Association Lez’Arts Media, alongside Mahina Khanum, and set out to innovate in the field of cultural mediation between France and India. He initiated four editions of the Indian Classical Dance Festival “Mouvements Emouvants” (2015-2017), under the high patronage of the Embassy of India in Paris. He also develops new educational tools to support the teaching of Indian classical dance in the French context.
His skills in digital creation soon lead him to pursue an original artistic approach focusing on the contrast between the traditional Indian culture and new technologies.
